C. Wilder, one of the county's oldest citizens, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. H. Mitchell, at Cragford on Friday of last week, following a long illness. "Uncle Neal," as he was called by most of the people in and around Cragford, was 87 years of age and had spent most of his long life in that community. Mr. Wilder is survived by the widow, three sons and six daughters. The sons are Will, of Cragford, C. R. and J. M. of Birmingham. The daughters are Mrs. C.H. Mitchell, Mrs. L. D. Walker, Mrs. Lorenzo Leftwich of Cragford, Mrs. A. A. Mitchell of Lineville, Mrs. A. A. McDaniel of Meigs, and Mrs. C. C. Harris of Birmingham. He is also survived by 37 grandchildren and 32 great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Cragford church on Sunday afternoon with Rev. W. W. Welborn officiating. The Masons fraternity had charge at the grave, Blair directing. Pallbearers were George Mitchell, Carter Mitchell, Elvin McDaniel, Howard Wilder and Baron Leftwich.
