Anniston Star
Funeral services were held recently at the Countyline Baptist Church in Mellow 
Valley for Edgar A. Wilkins, 65, of Cragford, Rt. 1, who died in a Tuscaloosa 
hospital. The Revs. Charles Jordan and Elmer Wheelis officiated, and burial was 
in the adjoining cemetery with Blair Funeral Home of Ashland in charge. He is 
survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertie S. Wilkins; one sister, Mrs. Era Mavroodes of 
Porterdale, Ga., and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were G. C. Dempsey, 
Eugene Ray, Joe Ray, Elbert Jett, John W. McCain and Russelbee Yates. He was a 
member of Fairview Freewill Baptist Church and a former employe of the Anniston 
Manufacturing Company.
