Oct. 13, 1899. Editor, Advocate, Will you allow me space in your paper to say that on Tuesday last. Marion Linch died very suddenly. Mr. Linch has been sick several days, but bad got up although he was quite feeble. About daylight he had a fainty spell followed by a severe pain in the left side and died within five or ten minutes. J. F. Williams, better known as Bud Williams, cut himself to death with a pocketknife. Mr. Willams, it seems from evidence of his relatives and neighbors has been acting a little strange for some time, and on last evening he and his wife went stay with the widow of Mr. Linch, and about 9 o'clock be left his wife with Mrs. Linch, and said he believed he would go home. After he was gone for some time search was instructed. and he was found in Mr. Linch cotton field about a half mile from the house. When found he was not dead, but when ask why he cut himself that way the only reply that he would make was "Water, water, take me and put me in it", He died half an. hour after found. His left leg was cut below the knee to the bone. the right leg was also cut behind the knee in more than one place, the arteries of both, legs being severed, there was a stab in the left breast and other portion of the body. No evidence of the cause of such suicide has yet been discovered search of paper and other evidence are being made. Mr. Williams and Mr. Linch married sisters, and both were young me. Each had three children. We sympathize with the bereaved relatives. G.T. Wilson. Additional Comments: Julius F. Williams is buried at Mt. Gilead Clay County AL.
