Santa Claus came in daylight yesterday to visit five-year-old Judy Woods who may 
not live until Christmas. The little girl has a cancer which doctors said 
probably will take her life within week. A department store Santa and his 
friend, a circus clown, brought delight to Judy, however. The clown with the 
funny nose carried a small, decorated Christmas tree and a music box, Santa 
carried an armful of gaily-wrapped packages. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Woods of Delta, 
Judy's parents, smiled when the clown turned the handle of the box and "Jingle 
Bells" tinkled through the room. Judy happily sucked a striped candy cane and 
nestled a new doll in her arms. A toy elephant which twitches his snout lay in 
the bed beside her.

Cancer Claims Tiny Judy Wood, five-year-old daughter Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Wood of 
Delta, died yesterday at Jefferson Hillman Hospital. Birmingham, where she has 
been under treatment for cancer. Funeral services will, be held at 3 o'clock 
tomorrow afternoon at the Shiloh Baptist Church, near Delta, with the Rev. Durro 
Wood officiating. Burall will be in the church cemetery. Besides the parents, 
the child is survived by a sister, Bessie Dean Wood, Delta; a half-sister, Mrs. 
Lillie Mae Green Heflin, a half-brother Hollis Wood; and the grandparents, W. T. 
Hodge, Delta, and Mrs. T. P. Clifton, Heflin.
