Woods, familiarly known as "Uncle Sam which occurred at his home in Talladega at an early hour Wednesday morning. While Mr. Woods was living at Talladega at time of death, he had only been there a few months, having moved there from Millerville in this county, where he had lived for many years and roared a large family. He was about seventy years of age and had led an active and useful life. We are informed that as a Confederate soldier he possessed unusual courage and fought in the famous battle of Gettysburg. The remains were brought Millerville for interment and the funeral services were held there yesterday afternoon and were attended by a large assembly of relatives and friends.
