Lavelle Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Millerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends until service time today. 1 Mr. Worthy died Saturday at the Chapman Nursing Home in Alexander City. Survivors include, his wife, Mary Worthy of Alexander City; one daughter,' Betty Smith of Bessemer; two sons, Benny Worthy of Ac worth, Ga. and Allen Worthy of Ashland; two sisters, Eunice Childers of Mellow Valley, and Katie Mueller of Alexander City; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ray Tomlin, Dwayne Smith, Michael McLaughlin, Brad McLaughlin, Dan Worthy and Jason Gray. Mr. Worthy was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. He was a self-employed businessman who had last operated Worthy Tire in Lineville and was a member of Millerville Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Edna Earl Worthy and one son, Ted Worthy.
