Ashland Progress
Mr. H. G. Worthy, age 80 years and 7 months passed away May 7th, at his home 
near Cragford. He was a member of Cragford Methodist Church Funeral services 
were held at Cragford Methodist Church, May 9th, conducted by Rev. Grady 
Birchfield of Alexander City, Rev. S. A. Owen of Talladega, Rev. Murphy of 
Wedowee. Blair directing. Surviving Mr. Worthy are his wife Mary Worthy, a 
sister, Mrs. Matt Roberts of Birmingham. Six children Horace Worthy Maimi. Fla, 
Henry Worthy of Alexander City, Mrs. R. O. Moody of Lineville, Mrs. Maudie 
Cunningham, of Lineville, Mathew Worthy of Alexander City, Mrs. W. E. Owens of 
Florence. Twenty grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were 
Mac Amason, Dewey Walker, M. Burdette, Faye Jordan, Garland Keller, Lomy McMath, 
Beman Caldwell and Grady Canady.
