The Alexander City Outlook
Mr. William J. Wright, aged 85, died at his home in Daviston last Tuesday morning 
after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning 
at 11 o'clock from the Sykesville Church, with Rev. Carwile officiating. 
Interment in adjoining cemetery, Sam Anderson Funeral Home in charge. Surviving 
are three sons, Thomas and Dwell Wright, of Cragford, and Lewis Wright of 
Alexander City. Three daughters, Mrs. Ida Caldwell, Alexander City; Mrs. Carl 
Weaver, Birmingham, and Mrs. Russell Jones, Alexander City. Nineteen 
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Enoch Wright; three 
sisters, Miss Dora Wright, Mrs. Donna Kennedy and Mrs. Ella Alford. Masonic Lodge 
had charge of services at the grave and acted as pallbearers.
