Anniston Star
Rufus H. Yates, 63, of Anniston, died Monday at his residence after a short 
illness. Funeral services were scheduled today at 10 a.m. at Olive Branch 
Baptist Church in Clay County with the Rev. A. A. Jacobs and the Rev. Mike 
Darnell officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Blair Brown-
Service Funeral Home of Lineville in charge. Survivors include three daughters, 
Mrs. Wanda Brumbelow and Mrs. Ruenette Creed, both of Anniston, and Mrs. Joyce 
Jacobs of Talladega; two sons, Bobby G. Yates of Oxford, and Terry H. Yates of 
Gadsden; two sisters, Mrs. Jewel Howie of Lineville, and Mrs. Goldie Hodnett of 
Rising Fawn, seven brothers, Steve Yates, Lowell Yates and Truman Yates, all of 
Lineville, Phillip Yates of Ashland, Claxton Yates of Butler, N. and Oscar Yates 
and Chester Yates, both of Lanette, and nine grandchildren.
