Ashland Progress
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 1:30 at Macedonia Primitive 
Baptist church for J. D. Young, who died at the home of his son, Stell Young, 
early Wednesday morning. The deceased had been in declining health for a number 
of years, and his death at this time was no surprise to his many friends and 
loved ones. Mr. Young was one of the leading farmers of the county and had 
resided in the Macedonia community for about forty years, having removed to Clay 
County from Randolph. He was a member of the church at Macedonia. Mr. Young was 
77 years of age and is survived by three sons: J. W. and S. D. Young of Ashland, 
Route 1, D. A. Young of Goodwater, and one daughter, Mrs. O. D. Sparks, of 
Ashland. Elder B. B. Finley will be in charge of the funeral rites and interment 
will be in the Macedonia cemetery, Blair directing.
