Funeral services for Mrs. Vertie Lee Zimmerman, 42, of Heflin, Rt. 2, were held 
today at 2 pm., at Bethel Baptist Church in Clay County with the Rev. Tom G. 
Hughes officiating. Burial was in the adjacent cemetery with Dryden Funeral Home 
directing. Mrs. Zimmerman died Monday, night in a Birmingham hospital after a 
long illness. She is survived by her husband, William M. Zimmerman one daughter, 
Miss Brenda Joy Zimmerman; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Hunter of Heflin; 
three brothers, Rossie Hunter of Carrollton. Ga David and Edward Hunter of 
Newman Ga.; stepbrother, Robert Landers of Pisgah; five sisters, Mrs. Mary 
Willingham of Lanett, Mrs. Meady Phillips of Birmingham, Mrs. Nellie Mae Royal 
of Opelika, Mrs. Macy Bonner of Choccolocco and Mrs. Ruby Nappier of Kalamazoo, 
Mich., and several made nieces and, nephews.
