He lived in Caddo Gap, Ark where there is a large rocky bluff. He was hunting a mountain lion in the winter on the bluff. The lion was threatening his animals. He fell off the bluff and broke both legs. One leg had to be amputated and he always said that they cut off the good leg. His son, My Grandfather James Elam Horn, moved back to Coleta, Clay Co., Al and raised his family. Colonel Amos Horn was his name, not a military title.
