Wingate Jesse Shores, born June 11, 1841 in Coweta County, Georgia, died 
December 18, 1905 in Alabama, buried in Rock Springs church cemetery on Rock 
Springs road off hiway 9 in Clay County, Alabama.  Inscription on his side 
reads. "KIND FATHER OF LOVE, THOU ART GONE TO THY REST"  On the same stone is 
wife Minerva D. (Hix) Woodman Shores 1843-1923.  Her incription reads "SHE WAS 
A KIND AND AFFECTIONATE WIFE, FOND MOTHER AND A FRIEND TO ALL"

Husband of Minerva D. Hix Woodman, son of Elijah Vance Shores
