-Was a telegraph operator for the Texas Railroad and worked out of Texas 
between 1900-1917. Fletcher is found in the April 15th, 1910 US Texas Census 
living in El Paso, El Paso County. He rented a room from the Myron R. & 
Elizabeth Hemley family on their farming homestead. Fletcher also had a small  
Tong Oil Tree Orchard in Texas. After the death of Fletcher’s father in 1917, 
he moved back to Alabama to help take care of his mother, Martha. 

-Headstone list the spelling of his last name as "Clarke". All documents prior 
to 1842 indicate the spelling of Fletcher's name as "Clark".
