PESNELL Ordered by the Court of Probate that James D. Thompson, Esq., be and he is hereby appointed Special Coroner to hold an Inquest this day on the body of C.M. Pesnell, deceased and to do all and singular the duties of coroner in the premises according to law and make due return. A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate ___ J.L. ROBERTS, GUARDIAN TO C.J. DUKE HEIRS State of Alabama, Cleburne County, Probate Court June the 17th 1867 This day came James L. Roberts and made application for letters of guardianship of the minor heirs of C.J. Duke late of said county, deceased, to wit: Lucy Ann a girl sixteen years of age; Mariah a girl thirteen years of age; Welcome a boy nine years of age; and Elizabeth a girl seven years of age; and the said James L. Roberts having complied with the requisitions of the law he is hereby appointed guardian of the said minor children in terms of the law. Done in open court at Edwardsville in said county of Cleburne and State of Ala. A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate ____ R. M. CHEATWOOD, Master, ALFRED B. JOHNSON, APPRENTICE State of Alabama, Cleburne County, Probate Court July the 8th 1867 Ordered by the court that R.M. Cheatwood be and is hereby appointed Master of Alfred B. Johnson, minor apprentice to take the custody and control of said minor to the age of twenty one years, according by law. A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate ___ MORRIS KINCHEN, Master, PETER MORRIS & EUEL MORRIS, APPRENTICES State of Alabama, Cleburne County, Probate Court July the 11th 1867 On the 11th day of July 1867 application was made and on order obtained from the probate court of said county by Kinchen Morris binding to the said Kinchen Morris two certain male minors by names respectively, Peter Morris and Euell Morris as apprentices; Peter Morris age 12 years, Euell Morris age 10 years. The said minors having no estate or means of support. A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate ___ REVOKED CAUSE SHOWN BY LUCINDA SMITH, MOTHER State of Alabama, Cleburne County Probate Court July the 24th 1868 On the 5th day of August 1867 applicaton was made an an order obtained by H.C. Hudgens from the probate court of said county binding to the same H.C. Hudgens, George W. Smith a male minor of the age of nine years, said minor having no means of support. On the 24th day of July 1868, the cause was revoked with cause shown by Lucinda Smith, mother of said child. A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate ___ E.T. HENDERSON, Master, SARAH & ESTHER HENDERSON, APPRENTICES State of Alabama, Cleburne County Probate Court August the 5th 1867 On the fifth day of August 1867, ordered by the court that Sarah Henderson, female minor age eleven years and Esther Henderson age nine years have this day been apprenticed to E.T. Henderson, he having complied with the requistions in such are made and provided. A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate __ E.T. HENDERSON, Master, ALLEN HENDERSON, APPRENTICE State of Alabama, Cleburne County Probate Court August the 5th 1867 On the 5th day of August 1867 ordered by the court that Allen Henderson, male minor of the age of four years has this day been apprenticed to E.T. Henderson in terms of the statutes in such case made and provided to E.T. Henderson having made and otherwise complied with the law. A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate ___ JOHN ENGLISH, Master, JOHN THOMAS TILLEY, APPRENTICE REVOKED in July 1868 State of Alabama, Cleburne County Probate Court August the 5th 1867 Ordered by the probate court of Cleburne County, Ala on this 5th day of August 1867 that John Thomas Tilley a minor of the age of eleven years has this day been apprenticed to John English in terms of the law, the said John English having filed his bond and otherwise complied with the requestions of the law. Chandler, Probate Judge ___ ISAAC YORK, Master, MARTHA SAMANTHA PRINCE, APPRENTICE August the 6th, 1867 Ordered by the probate court of Cleburne County on this the 6th day of August 1867 that Martha Samantha Prince has this day been apprenticed to Isaac York, he having filed this bond in terms of the law. A.D. Chandler Judge of Probate. ___ REVOCATION OF THE ORDER BINDING M.A.S. PRINCE, APPRENTICE TO ISAAC YORK September the 16th 1867 State of Alabama, Cleburne County Probate Court This day comes Isaac York and files his petition asking that letters of apprenticeship heretofore to wit on the 6 day of Aug 1867 issued to said Isaac York appointing Martha Ann Samantha Prince a minor child to said Isaac York be revoked and the bond heretofore given be cancelled and held for naught. Having examined into the matter and for good cause shown to the court; it is therefore ordered that the letters of apprenticeship granted to Isaac York the said child Martha A.S. Prince be and is hereby revoked and the bond cancelled and held for naught. A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate To the Honorable A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate, for the County of Cleburne, State of Alabama: Your Petitioner, Isaac York, would most respectfully represent unto your honor that heretofore to wit on the 6th day of August 1867, Martha Ann Samantha Prince a minor was by your honor appointed to petitioner; that afterward the mother of said minor child, Elizabeth Prince, took and carried off said child without the consent of your petitioner and has gone to parts unknown; that your petitioner has used extra exertions to endeavor to obtain possession of said apprentice using due obligations on his own but has wholey failed to regain the possession of said Martha Ann Samantha Prince. That the last he hears of said apprentice is that the mother of said child had the said child in her possession and was on her way to the State of Georgia. The petitioner prays that your honor will revoke the letters of apprenticeship issued by your honor apponting said Martha A.S. Prince to your petitioner and that the bond given by the petitioner be cancelled and held for naught, and such other further and general relief as your honor may seem most just and proper. Isaac York ___ R.B. TREADAWAY, Master, FRANK TREADAWAY, APPRENTICE State of Alabama, Cleburne County Probate Court September the 16th 1867 On this 18th day of September 1867 application was made and an order obtained binding to R.B. Treadaway, Frank Treadaway aged fifteen years and eleven months, as apprentice, until said minor attains the age of twenty one years. A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate ____ LETTERS OF ADMINISTRATION on ESTATE OF JOHN P.C. PETTIT State of Alabama, Cleburne County September the 16th 1867 At the term of the court, this 16th day of September 1867, letters of administration on the estate of John P.C. Pettit late of said county, deceased, are hereby granted to William M. Bell who has duly qualified and given bond as such and is authorized to administer said estate. Bell are held and firmly bound unto A.D. Signed and dealed the 16th day of September 1867. The condition of the above obligation is such that the above bound William M. PETTIT, ORDER TO RECORD INVENTORY October the 16th 1867 Court of Probate for Cleburne County On this day, Wm. M. Bell, administrator of the estate of J.P.C. Pettit, deceased, having filed an Inventory and appraisal of said estate in terms of the law, it is therefore ordered that the appraisal be recorded in the book of Wills and Inventories. A.D. Chandler, Probate Judge ___ ORDER GRANTING LETTERS OF ADMINISTRATION on ESTATE OF NOEL N. LIGON, deceased January the 4th 1868 Cleburne County Probate Court Special Term This day application having been made by W.M. Ligon for letters of administration of the estate of Noel N. Ligon late of Cleburne County, Ala., deceased, the said W.M. Ligon having complied with the requisitions of the law in such cases made and provided. It is ordered by the court that letters of administration be granted to the said W.M. Ligon as aforesaid and R.G. Noel, D.R. Ligon, John Boman Sr. are appointed appraisers of the personal estate as aforesaid. A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate. State of Alabama, Cleburne County Know all men by these presents that we, W.M. Chandler, Judge of Probate court and his successors in office in the sum of four thousand five hundred dollars for which payment will and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators firly by these presents, signed and sealed this 4th day of January 1868. The condition of the above obligation is such that the above bound W.M. Ligon has this day been appointed administrator of the estate of Noel N. Ligon, late of Cleburne County, deceased. W. M. Ligon, D.G. Ligon, W.H. Ligon, C.A. Ligon State of Alabama, Cleburne County Probate Court Feb'y the 25th 1868 Before me came W.M.Ligon, administrator of the estate of Noel N. Ligon late of said county, deceased, who being duly sworn says he believes it necessary to sell the personal property of said estate enumerated on the appraisal, for the payment of debts of the decedant. It is therefore ordered that the said W.M. Ligon, Admr. as aforesaid, proceed to sell the personal property enumerated in the appraisement, upon the premises of the deceased in Cleburne County, Ala., for cash on the 30th day of March next. Chandler, Judge of Probate ___ ESTATE OF KELLETT COKER; JAMES BABER ORDER OF SALE State of Alabama, Cleburne County Feb'y the 7th, 1868 On this day came James Baber who files his petition in writing setting forth that Kellett Coker died seized and possessed a certain real estate in said county and prays that letters of administration be granted to the said James Baber. It is therefore ordered by the court that letters of administration issue to the said James Baber upon the estate of the said Kellett Coker, deceased. A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate Letters of administration on the estate of Kellett Coker late of Calhoun County, Ala, deceased was granted to James Baber on the 7th day of February 1868 by the honorable A.D. Chandler Judge of Probate court in Cleburne County, the said James Baber being duly qualified and given bond as such and is authorized to administer such estate this 7th day of Feb'y 1868. A.D. Chandler Judge of Probate court and his successors in office in the sum of thirty four hundred dollars for which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators firmly by these presence, singed and sealed the seventh day of February 1868. The condition of the above obligation is such that the above James Baber has this day been appointed administrator of the estate of Kellet Coker late of said county, deceased. State of Alabama, Cleburne County Court of Probate Special Term February the 7th 1868 It is ordered that John Bennett, Thomas Burgess and John Edmunson be appointed appraisors o fthe estate of Kellett Coker, late of Calhoun County, now Cleburne County, deceased, and make a true return to this office in terms of law. A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate ____ ESTATE OF WILLIS L. SCOTT, deceased; J.W. WIGGINTON APPOINTED ADMININISTRATOR State of Alabama, Cleburne County March the 9th 1868 Upon the application of John H. Scott for an order appointing J.W. Wiggonton as administrator of the estate of Willis L. Scott, late of Cleburne County, Ala., deceased. It is ordered by the court that J.W. Wiggonton be and he is hereby appointed administrator of the estate of Willis L. Scott, deceased and that letters be granted to J.W. Wigggonton as aforesaid. A.D. Chandler, Judge of Probate This 9th day of March 1868 it is ordered by the court that Wm. R. Brown Esq., Richard Anderson and P.J.C. McCaghren be and they are hereby appointed appraisors of the estate of Willis L. Scott, deceased, late of Cleburne County, Ala. A.D.
