Gentry the sum of Fourteen dollars being the amount of fee and compensation of Register and receiver for the entry of W 1/2 of NE 1/4 and E 1/2 of NW 1/4 of Section Thirty Six in Township Sizteen S. Range, Twelve E., under the acts of Congress approved May 20, 1862 and March 21, 1864 entitled "An act to secure homsteads to actual settlers on the public domain." W. H. Dingley, Receiver. $14. Gentry the sum of Five dollars being in full for Four acres W 1/2 of NE 1/4 and E 1/2 of NW 1/4 Section No. Thirty Six in Township No. Sixteen S. of Range No. Twelve E being excess in said tract over the area entered under the homestead application and Receipt No. 2075 Homestead Affidavit, Land Office Montgomery, Ala. Oct 23, 1869 I, Joseph R. Gentry of Cleburne County, Ala. having filed my application No. 2075 for an entry under the provisions of the act of Congress approved May 20, 1862 entitled "An Act to secure Homesteads to Actual Settlers on the Public Domain" do solemnly swear that I am the head of a family and a citizen of the United States; that said Application No. 2075 is made for the purpose of settlement and cultivation and that said entry is for my exclusive use and benefit and not directly or indirectly for the use or benefit of any other person or persons whomsoever, and that I have not heretofore had the benefit of this Act and that I am unable to visit the office at Montgomery by reason of Great Distance. Gentry, X, his mark Sworn to and subscribed this 20th day of Sept 1869, before James Baber, Clerk of the Circuit Court for Cleburne County, and I do hereby certify that the affiant in the above to be an actual resident of Cleburne County. Ala. do hereby apply to enter under the provisions of the act of Congress approved May 20, 1862 entitled "An Act to secure homesteads to Actual Settlers on the Public Domain" the W 1/2 NE 1/2 E 1/2 NW 1/2 of Section 36 in Township 16 of Range 12 E containing 164 acres. Joseph R. Gentry, X, his mark Final Proof Required under Homestead Act May 20, 1862 We, Gilbert Gay and Samuel P. Skinner do solemnly swear that we have known Joseph R. Gentry for six years last past; that he is the head of a family consisting of a wife and children and is a citizen of the United States; that he is an inhabitant of the ? of NE 1/2 and E ? of NW 1/4 of section No. 36 in Township 16 S of Range 12 East and that no other person has resided upon the said land entiteld to the right of Homestead or Pre-emption. That the said Joseph R. Gentry entered upon and made settlement on said land on or before the 23rd day of October 1869 and has built a house and has lived in the said house and made it his exclusive home from before the 23rd day of October 1869 to the present time and that he has since said settlement, plowed, fenced and cultivated about 50 to 55 acres of said land and has made the following improvements thereon to wit: A one room dwelling house, kitchen, stable, corn crib, work shop, a dwelling house workmen, Fruit orchard and vegetable garden and a dug well. Anderson Register of Land Office, Montgomery, Ala do hereby certify that the above affadavit was taken and subscribed before me this 16th day of September 1875. P.J. Anderson, Register. Homestead Final Certificate No. 349 Application No. 2075 Homestead Land Office at Montgomery, Ala Sept 16, 1875 It is hereby certified that pursuant to the provisions of the Act of Congress approved May 20, 1862 entitled An Act to Secure homesteads to actual settlers on the public domain". Joseph R. Gentry has made payment in full for West half of North East quarter and East half of North West quarter of Section No. 36 in Township No. 16 S 12 east containing 164 acres. Now therefore be it known that on presentation of this certificate to the Commissioner of the General Land Office, the said Joseph R.
