J. Skinner was a Private, a soldier in Company H of 41st Regiment of Vol.; that he came to his death in the service of the Confederate States army; and that his death occurred during the late war. That she has not since remarried; that she was a resident of Alabama on the 25th day of Feburary 1887, and is a resident at the date of this application; and that her taxable property does not exceed one thousand dollars in value. Mary Skinner, X, her mark Sworn to and subscribed before me this 10 day of August 1887. Bartlett Owen, Judge of Probate of Cleburne County State of Alabama, County of Cleburne I hereby certify that satisfactory proof has been made before me of the truth of the allegations set forth in above affadavit and taht I believe Mrs. Mary Skinner is entitled to relief under the Act approved February 25th 1887; and that the duplicate of the foregoing application and affidavit is on file in my office. Skinner who being by me duly sworn deposes and says under oath that she is the widow of W.J. Skinner. That her husband was a Private in Company ___, that he did not desert the service of this State or Confederate States; that he was killed or died of disease or wounds during the said War. That she has not since remarried. That she is now a bona fide resident of Alabama and that her post office address is Bowdon GA. That her taxable property consists of None, and is not worth in the aggregate more than five hundred dollars an that her salary or gross income does not amount to five hundred dollars a year. And she hereby makes application for relief under said Act; that she was unable in 1896 to go before Judge of Probate to make her application. M.S. William Jasper Skinner was a Confederate soldier in the Civil War, enlisting in Co. H., 41st GA Reg. Inf. Skinner Estate has been duly issued and published, and it also appearing to the Court from a thorough examination of all the proceedings of Said N. Shelnutt Administration of W.J. Skinner's estate that he has fully and faithfully administered said estate and is legally entitled to a discharge from his administration. The Citation in this case having been given to Mary Tims (?) but was continued to December Term in consequence of legislative entitlement interfering with collection. And no objection being offered to his dismission ordered that he be discharged from his administration of W.J. Skinner's estate, and that as evidence of this discharge letters of Dismission issued to him. D.B.
