Wier after spending several weeks with her parents in Mississippi has returned home. __ Mr. John Teague of Arbacoochee beat, died at his home on last Wednesday and was buried at Cedar Creek church on Friday. __ Died, at his residence near Choccolocco, on Friday June 10th, Mr. Jno. W. Smith. He had been in bad health for the past years but his condition was not such as to cause alarm until two days before his death, when he was taken violently ill and never rallied. He was the step-father of Miss Annie Sanson of this place. __ Mrs. J.W. Woodruff of Atlanta, GA accompanied by her little daughter Mary, is visiting her sister, Mrs. B.J. Edmondson at Cedar creek stock farm and will spend several weeks there during the heated term of summer. __ Mr. Turner of Tennessee has leased the gold mine of Messrs. Wise and Huston near Arbacoochee for a period of one year and will erect a ten stamp mill at an early day on the property. Mr. Turner is a thoroughly practical miner and is well up on the most improved methods of mining, this taken together with the fact that he will operate in one of the richest gold mining districts in the United States, gives full promise of success crowning his efforts. __ Mrs. Clay Beason of Beason's Mills is, we great to learn, dangerously sick from relapse of measles. __ NEWSPAPER Issue of Saturday, July 16, 1892 LOST or STOLEN - - On last Monday my dog, a large black, half Newfoundland with white ring around his neck and white breast, was either carried away from Heflin or followed someone off. Any person who will return him or give me information of him, will be suitably rewarded. J.B. Talbot, Heflin, Ala. __ NEWSPAPER Issue of Saturday, August 6, 1892 Mr. A.F. West of Ashland is visiting relatives in town this week. __ Mr. Pierce McMurray of Roanoke is in town visiting his brother Mr. H.A. McMurray. __ Mr. John Boman and his family are on a visit to relatives on Sand Mountain. They left on last Tuesday. __ Mr. R.T. Chambers, formerly of this place but now of Marshall County, is visting his relatives and friends here. __ Misses Millie and Bertie Osborn left here Tuesday morning to visit relatives in Colorado. They will be absent for several months. __ Miss Mattie Perryman of Tuscambia, Ala and Mr. Will Perryman of Randolph county are visiting their brother Mr. Gus L. Perryman and other relatives in town. __ DIED - - on Monday the 8th inst., at the home of her father Mr. M. L. Snow, in Heflin, Mrs. Martha M. Armstrong, aged about 28 years. __ Mrs. W.W. Wier of Anniston, accompanied by her daughter Mrs. J.H. Bell, visited her sons Messrs. C.B. Wier and S.L. Wier this week and returned home on last Tuesday evening. __ NEWSPAPER Issue of Saturday, August 13, 1892 Mr. G.W. Hall has purchased a farm in Clay County and may conclude to move to it this fall. __ Mr. H.N. Watson and his daughter Miss Ellen are visiting Mr. Watson's aged mother on Brinlee mountain. __ Bun Garner of Buford and Otto Harris of Abernathy are visiting their Uncle, Mr. B.F. Owens and other relatives in town. __ DIED - -Mrs. Ramsey, the mother-in-law of Rev. W.J.
