Burgess at $6.50 per month, per capita. __ NEWSPAPER Issue of Thursday, September 29, 1892 Miss Hattie Perryman of Rokdale, Ala, is visiting her sister, Mrs. J.F. Morgan in town. __ Mr. E.S. Swift will move down to Chulafinnee to run a cotton gin and saw mill that Swift Brothers recently purchased from Mr. Stovall down there. __ DIED - - Mr. Glenn Black of Oxanna, a brother of Mr. E.T. Black of Heflin and a former citizen of this county, died at his home on last Wednesday and was buried at Oxford on Thursday with Masonic honors. __ NEWSPAPER Issue of Thursday, October 6, 1892 Mayor John F. Morgan was called to Randolph county on last Wednesday by the severe illness of one of his children which was taken sick while on a visit there with its mother. __ NEWSPAPER Issue of Thursday, October 20, 1892 Mr. H.G. Noell is critically ill, suffering from an ulcer in the stomach. __ Tommie the little son of Mr. and Mrs. John Boman is quite sick with pneumonia. __ NEWSPAPER Issue of Thursday, November 3, 1892 LAND FOR SALE - - I will sell 37 acres of land lying one fourth mile from the corporate limits of Heflin. There is a 4 room house and good garden on the place. The land is in original forest and well timbered, there are several springs of excellent water on it and a fine location for a tannery. Tolleson ___ On Tuesday night last, a thief entered the residence of Mr. Ellis who lives near Chulafinnee and stole a large zinc covered trunk containing the cotton book, notes, accounts and mortgages and $300. in cash, together with several articles of wearing apparel and two counterpanes the property of Mr. Ellis. __ Miss Lucy Woolbright of Westminster, S.C. is visiting her sister, Mrs. L.L.
