Wise, deceased, estate of Letters of administration upon the estate of H.H. Wise, deceased, having been granted to the undersigned on the 29th day of August 1893 by the Hon. S.P. Baber, Judge of the Probate Court of Cleburne County, notice is hereby given that all persons having claims against said estate will be required to present the same within the time allowed by law or that the same will be barred. J.J. Boman, Administrator __ Mrs. J.P. Bedwell left Tuesday for Birmingham on a visit to her daughter, Mrs. Moore. __ Rev. W.F. Evans of Loneoke, Arkansas, after an absence from here of some thirty five years, visited relatives in this vicinity this week and last. He left yesterday for his old Arkansas home. __ All doctors and midwives are requested to make a report of all births and deaths at the close of each month according to the law. Ligon, M.D. Oakfuskee, Ala _____ NEWSPAPER Issue of Thursday, September 14, 1893 MINERAL Community News of Cleburne and Randolph Counties Mr. Jefferson Miller of Everett Springs, GA is prospecting his gold and mica properties in the northern part of Randolph county. __ Houston and Phillips are preparing to continue the tunnel on the Price property which is already 100 feet. They expect to crosscut the vein within the next fifty feet at a depth of 100 feeet of the outcrop. __ The Southerland and Wilburn gold mines fifteen miles east of Heflin is paying well. A new lead twelve feet thick has recently been found and it is one of the richest ever found in California, New Mexico or Colorado. They are working the mine with an old fashioned wooden stamp with a four stamp capacity and ordinary battery pans, still, they are saving from $15. to $20. a day. Nothing but an old copper plate is used to save the gold. There is no arguing that gold mining is not profitable in Cleburne County. ___ WILDWOOD Community News Rev. T.M. Lipham, we understand, occupied the pulpit at Valley Grove Church Sunday before last. __ DIED - -Mrs. E.W. Landers of Heflin, died at the home of her father, Thomas Forster, on the 28th (Aug).
