Blake. Mr. Blake was an old resident of this county and had many friends who mourn his demise. __ It is with a feeling of sadness that we chronicle the death of "Uncle" Ben Reid, an old and much beloved citizen of this county. He died at his home, two miles south of this city on Tuesday night last. He was a valued citizen of this county for more than 50 years, his age being about 72, and was a general favorite among those who knew him, even the little children of his acquaintance loved "Uncle Ben" because he was kind and were always met by him with a cheerful smile. Mr. Reid served in the late war until it's close and to tend a brave and true soldier. Thus we lose a valued citizen, a true patriot and a man who will be missed. Peace to his ashes. __ File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/al/cleburne/newspapers/gnw140newspape.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/alfiles/ File size: 2.8 Kb
