He was a native of Forsyth County, Georgia but has lived at his recent residence for the past fifty- seven years having come here in the earlier days of the great gold mining excitement . He has always enjoyed the respect and confidence of the people of this section of the county. ___ J.F. Wessinger has moved into the house occupied by his father-in-law, B.B. Moore and E.R. Stephenson has moved into the house vacated by J.F. Wessinger. __ Sam H. Dunston, who is attending school at Troy, Ala., came home last night to be present at circuit court as a witness iin the Poland murder case. He will return to Troy on Sunday. ___ A.M. Howell of Greenville, S.C., a brother of E.S. Howell of this city, has recently been appointed to represent the agricultural and pomological interest of the United States at New South Wales, Australia. ___ NEWSPAPER Issue of Thursday, March 11, 1897 Mrs. IDA WADDELL DANIEL DIES - - At the home of her husband Jack Daniel of Middleton, Calhoun County, Ala, February 24, 1897, Mrs. Ida Daniel nee Waddell. Ida was born December 4, 1880 and was married April 3, 1896; was converted in a grove meeting last August at Middleton Church, the cemetery where her remains were laid to rest to await the great resurrection morn. Just before she died she called for the Bible, read a verse, talked of her heavenly home and admonished her friends to live right and meet her there. _______ LOCAL NEWS Miss Beatrice Henry after spending several weeks in Carroll County, GA with relatives, returned home last Thursday night. __ W. A. NUNNELLY DIES - - - News has just reached Heflin of the death of Mr. W.A. Nunnelly which occurred at his home in DeLeon, Texas on February 13th. He was 84 years old. Mr. Nunnelly was until a few years ago a citizen of this county. He was well and favorably known by a majority of the citizens of this county who will learn of his death with sadness. _______ NEWSPAPER Issue of Thursday, March 18, 1897 Miss Annie Thompson of Ashville is visiting her sister Mrs. E.R. Stephenson of this city. __ Mat Holland, col., of this place, was killed by a train in Atlanta on Tuesday. His remains were sent here for interment yesterday. __ NEWSPAPER Issue of Thursday, March 25, 1897 LOCAL NEWS BORN - - to Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Carruth last night, a fine girl. __ A freight train was wrecked at Edwardsville last Wednesday morning. Several cars were demolished and several horses that were being shipped were bruised up with one killed. No one was injured. ____ The jury in the Poland trial brought in a verdict of not guilty, in circuit court at Edwardsville lst week. The case against Coon Parker was nolle prossed. __ WILDWOOD Community News Married, at the residence of the bride's father, Miss Carrie Braden and Mr. E.H. Conger.
