Burgess of Edwardsville passed through the city enroute to his new farm, the old Margaret R. Ross place. __ MARRIED - - N. J. Pesnell and Miss Lovanna Prichard were happily married at the home of the bride's parents at Belltown a few days since. ___ Good farm for sale on Sand Mountain, Ala., containing 58 acres, clear of encumbrance; two dwelling houses and necessary out houses; plenty of never failing water. Land can be divided to suit two purchasers. For particulars inquire of Dr. S.L. B. Blacke, Fruithurst. __ H.A. Amos of Anniston was in Heflin yesterday. He has been visiting relatives in the southern part of the county. __ LEGAL NOTICE - - Letters of Administration Letters of administration having been granted to the undersigned upon the estate of R.J. O'Harrow, deceased, on the 12th day of November 1904, by the Probate Court of Cleburne County, all persons having claims against said estate are hereby notified to present the same within the time allowed by the law or the same will be barred. This December 1, 1904. Thos. H. Shackleford, Administrator ____ The residence of Mrs. Bettie Mitchell west of Ross street was destroyed by fire last Sunday afternoon. Most all the household effects were destroyed with no insurance. The dwelling was insured. Mrs. Mitchell returnes her sincere and most heartfelt thanks to the people of Heflin for their many kindnesses during and since the fire. __ NEWSPAPER Issue of Saturday, December 10, 1904 Cecil Harris is slowly improving from typhoid fever. Warren Slayton is convalecsing rapidly from typhoid fever. __ CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the people of Heflin who worked and saved our home and barn during the fire last Sunday. O'Harrow, deceased. Thos. H. Shackleford, Administrator ________ NEWSPAPER issue of Saturday, December 17, 1904 MARRIAGE - - G.F. Bennett and Miss Gussie Hurst, two of Edwardsville's popular young people wed. Last Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at the home of Judge and Mrs. A.A. Hurst, the marriage of their accomplished daughter Miss Gussie, was solemnized. Rev. Jno. A. Scott, pastor of the Baptist Church of this place who tied the conjugal knot, in speaking of the marriage said " This was one of the most lovable and attractive weddings it has been my pleasure to attend. The room was beautifully decorated, graced with the presence of the family and a few selected friends." Immediately after the ceremony the guest with the bride and groom repaired to the depot and the bride and groom boarded the train and pulled out east on the wedding tour. __ Mrs. Taylor has moved from Heflin to Anniston. Mrs. Taylor is a Heflin pioneer. When Mr. J.F. Morgan moved from Randolph County to Heflin the Taylors were here and also the Almons and a number of others, but of course, but Mr. W.U. ALmon and family are the only people here now who were here at that time. __ The Rev. Tom A. Kerr has completed his time at Heflin and gone to his new work in Anniston. ___ A regular meeting of the Order of the Eastern Star will be held at the Masonic Hall on Tuesday the 20th inst. at 1:30 p.m. __ DIED - - Mrs. Lizzie Ray died at her home in Birmingham on Wednesday and was buried at Seddon on Thursday. Mrs. Ray has relatives in Cleburne county who will learn of her death with sorrow. __ Dr. Lee Wright of Heflin was in Tallapoosa, GA visiting his brother Mr. T.W. Wright. __ Mrs. J.M. Lofley is in Anniston this week visiting her mother, Mrs. Duke. __ Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Cochran spent last weekend at Clarkston, GA. __ NEWSPAPER Issue of Saturday, December 24, 1904 T.M. Reeves and family left for their new home at Albertville, Ala. Success and best wishes to them. __ Mr. and Mrs. C.A. O'Keefe of Colorado City, Texas are spending a few days with the family of J.M. Atkins. __ Miss Mattie Williamson of Oxford is visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E.T.
