Rhodes of Tallapoosa GA has been here this week the guest of his half- brother, Dr. L.R. Wright. __ J.M. Gilley Sr. called at our office Tuesday and subscribed the The New Era. Mr. Gilley is much of a man physically and mentally and his eyesight is exceptionally good for a man of his age. He is a Georgian by birth and relates many interesting incidents that took place in his early boyhood days. ___ G.W. Wager is in Carrollton this week at the bedside of his sick mother, whom he thinks will not live very long. She has been quite sick for some time. __ NEWSPAPER issue of Saturday, May 13, 1905 Deputy Marshall Gibson brought J.M. Boggs of Randolph County, Ala., before Commissioner Samford on a charge of illicit distilling. Boggs operated one of the large stills recently captured and destroyed in Randolph County but escaped arrest at the time. He was bound over to the United States court in Montgomery in the sum of $300. ___ Notice - - My son, L.J. Edwards, has without cause, left home and as he is under the age of twenty-one, I hereby ask and request that no one give him employment. W.E. Edwards ___ Benjamin Hall of Ft. Flagler, Washington, after about four years of Army life, is again at his old stamping ground, Arbacoochee. Ben is a good man and a very intelligent young man and has had many happy and beneficial experiences during his absence. He is now with his nearest and dearest friend on earth, his mother. __ Jas. Morrison of Roopville, GA is in Heflin the guest of his uncle, H.C. Jordan. __ NEWSPAPER issue of Saturday, May 27, 1905 We are glad to know that Mrs. J.S. Shaw who has been ill for quite awhile is convalescing. __ Messrs. J.B. Harlin and S.G. Harlin made a business trip to GA last week. __ Mrs. Pruitt is visiting Mrs. H.M.
