STORY WAS ROBBED H. Taylor who has been here only a few days from St. Louis, was tried in police court this morning and fined $70. on a charge of larceny from the person of T.S. Story. Mr. T.S. Story hails from Heflin. He came to the city Saturday, made purchases and then proceeded to test the liquid refreshments served by the several saloons of the city. Story met up with Taylor, took two or three and then went with Taylor to a barber shop. While Taylor was being shaved, Story fell asleep, and when aroused he left a pair of shoes in the shop. They went down Moore street and had gone about half a block when Story thought of his shoes. Taylor told him to sit down and he would get them for him. Story sat down to wait on a lumber pile and soon was in a semi-conscious condition, his senses being numbed by intoxicants. Taylor, according to Story's statements, returned and searched his pockets. Finding no money to amount to anything he took his cuff buttons, tie and other property on his person. The case was turned over to Policeman Jurels who soon succeeded in landing Taylor behind bars.
