Tolleson and daughter of J.S. and Amanda Bolt, died at the home of her husband in Heflin on Thursday, September 20th of peritonitis. The deceased was born in Clay County, Alabama on the 20th day of November 1878, but with her father's family, has lived in Heflin for 20 years past. She was a member of the M.E. Church south, and having fixed her heart in jesus, she was quietly though faithfully a follower of his great examples, unobtrusive as she was there was that light in her life that shining out proclaimed that she had been with jesus. Sometimes in the inscrutable ways of god there are those things that we cannot always understand. But to the christians they know that all things work together for good to them that love his appearing. We would not ask why this young mother was called to leave her three children, one of which was only three weeks old, nor why this devoted wife was taken from her loving husband, nor yet, why the dutiful daughter could not stay longer, the hope and joy of finest parents, and the brothers who so sadly miss her. The reason why all this was done was because god saw the maturity of his flower and put forth his hand and plucked it and Leanna was no more with us. Husband, parents, brothers weep for her as you should do, and in the future learn the little children of a young mother who was so early called to leave them. Remember that those who best know Leanna loved her most for her virtues. Her life, though short, was full of endearing traits that make friends and kindred alike join in saying of her "he has called for many a loved one. We have seen them leave our side. With our savior we shall meet them, when we too have crossed the tide. A friend. ___ File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/al/cleburne/newspapers/gnw195newspape.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/alfiles/ File size: 12.7 Kb
