Cook of Bell Mills was in the city Thursday looking after the winding up of the estate of J.E. B. Cook of which he is the administrator. ___ A.T. Tolleson, who was accidentally shot in the right thigh with a load of birdshot by his brother Enoch while out hunting last Saturday evening is now able to be at work. __ Dr. J.A. Nelms and Miss Jane Shaw were married the 15th inst. at the Methodist Parsonage, Rev. J.W. Tucker spoke the words that made them one flesh in the sight of god and man. We waft congratulations and hope the matrimonal sea may ever be calm and unruffled by storm or tempest. ___ BEASON'S MILL News The quarterly meeting held at Green's Chapel was a success. Bro. J.G. Johnson was on hand and carried out the business. There were two delegates from New Home, Bro. Chas. Boyd and William Kitchens; two from Morrison's Chapel, Mr. Dan McCord and Arthur Morrison and on Sunday Messes Edwards and Newman White and Lemon Edwards. We were glad to see them out. ______ NEWSPAPER Issue of Saturday, November 24, 1906 PERSONAL & LOCAL News Mrs. Stell Blake of Wedowee is in the city this week the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Stricklen. __ Sam. Wallace, miner and real estate dealer, was in the city on business Thursday. Mr. Wallace is arranging to do a real estate business on a large scale and those who wish to sell or buy are requested to see him. __ Heflin Brass Band furnished music for the Kilby speaking at the Noble street Theatre last Saturday night. A large crowd was in attendance. __ Mrs. Jas. M. Evans and Miss Lola Gibbs returned last week from a pleasant visit to Mrs. Evans' relatives at Bowdon, GA. __ John L. Davis of Choccolocca will deliver a temperance lecture at Belltown tomorrow at ten o'clock. __ Contract for the new Cleburne County courthouse was been let in the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars, same being awarded to the F.B. Hull Construction Co., Jackson, Miss. Work will begin at an early date and the building will be rushed to completion as rapidly as possible. ____ J.M. Johnson and family of Graham, Randolph County, passed through Heflin on Tuesday enroute to Temple, Texas where they go on an extended visit to their son Clifton, who is a member of the firm of Cheeves.
