It went three-fourths of a mile east of Arbacoochee Cleburne county, sweeping timber and houses as it went. The houses of J. H. Howle and K. Morris were blown down to the bottom sill, but the families of both escaped uninjured. The house of J. H. Price, a tenant of James H. Roberts was blown down, and Price being wounded by the logs, is not able to secure a shelter for his family. We have not heard of the tornado north, further than Bell & Walker's mills, on Tallapoosa River. These mills were injured very much, the loss being estimated at about $1,500. They had a fine set of mills, combined with a wool factory and cotton gin. The carding factory and cotton gin were entirely blown away. They have not found the gin, as yet. The loss was mostly of machinery and about 100 bushels of wheat and 8OO pounds of wool. Mr. J. P. Chandler, the miller, was wounded by bis dwelling being blown down on him. He says that he was not sensible of his wounds for some time after the storm had passed. He is able to be up today, but not able to do any labor.
