FRAMES Funeral services were held March 25 at 1 p.m. from Happy Hill church for Mrs. Cynthia Frames by the Rev. Ira D. Patty. Interment was in the church cemetery with Brown - Service in charge. Mrs. Frames, age 50, had been in ill health for 3 years. She is survived by her husband Frank Frames; two sons, Shelly of Choccolocco; A.G. of Edwardsville; two daughters, Lucile Frames and Mrs. Velma Pruitt, both of Edwardsville; one sister Mrs. Louella Jones of Sand Hill, Ga. and one brother Willie Roughton of Munford. ------- T.D. DAVIDSON Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon from Liberty Hill Baptist church for T.D. Davidson, age 66, who died at his home at Heflin, Route 3, Friday morning following an illness of seven months. The Rev. J.H. Sanders officiated. Interment was in Bethlehem cemetery. Surviving Mr. Davidson are his wife; five sons, T.A., R.A. and John of Heflin; and T.D. and Junior of Columbia, Tenn., and eight daughters, Mrs. Paul Walker of Gadsden; Mrs. A.J. Williams of Anniston; Mrs. M.I. Greeman of Hapville, Ga., Mrs. A.J. Thrower; Mrs. Eldridge Turner; Mrs. H.T. Wade and Misses Mary and Jo Ann Davidson, all of Heflin. ------- NEWSPAPER Issue of Thursday, APRIL 10, 1941 BIRTHDAY DINNER GIVEN IN HONOR OF HAMP NORTON A surprise birthday dinner was given for H.G. Baptist church on March 30 for Joe L. Marlow, age 67, who passed away March 29 at the residence on Heflin, Route 2. The Rev. Horace Smith conducted the services. Interment was in the church cemetery with Brown - Service of Heflin directing. Mr. Marlow is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Lelia Farmer of Carrollton, Ga., Mrs. Pat Fordham, Mrs. Will Edson, Mrs. Evelyn Fordham and Miss Bell Marlow of Heflin; four sons, Henry of Bowdon; John of Veal, Ga., Ed of Heflin and Joe of LaGrange, Ga. ----- MRS. J.J. BEECHAM Mrs. J.J. Beecham, age 39, passed away March 31 at her residence in Fruithurst. Funeral services were held April 3 at 2:30 from Rock Run church by the Rev. M.M. Kennedy. Interment was in Oak Grove cemetery near Rock Run, with Brown - Services of Heflin directing. Mrs. Beecham is survived by her husband, two daughters, Agnes and Mary of Fruithurst; one son, Joe Forest; two brothers, O.E. Morrison of Montgomery; W.J. Morrison of Newark, N.J., and her mother Mrs. Mary Morrison of Montgomery. ------- MRS. A.A. PRICHARD Mrs., Armond Armandia Prichard, age 86, passed away March 27 at her residence in Heflin. Mrs. Prichard had been ill for about ten days. She had lived on Route 2 for the past 37 years. Funeral services were held from Ai church at 2 p.m. March 28 by the Rev. W.M. Barr and Rev. R. Skinner. Interment was in the church cemetery with Brown - Service in charge. Mrs. Prichard is survived by four sons, Gus, Reese, and Jim of Heflin and Oscar of Alabama City; two daughters, Mrs. P.H. Coley of Heflin and Mrs. Della Clark of Fruithurst. Pallbearers were Buna Gaines, Jim Shelton, Charlie Weaver, Leonard Kerr, Homer Connell and John Hubbard. ------- MISS EFFIE WILLINGHAM Funeral services were conducted March 26 from Pleasant Hill by the Rev. W.M. Barr and Rev. E.A. Riddle for Miss Effie Willingham of Heflin, Route 3. Interment was in the church cemetery with Brown - Service directing. Miss Willingham, age 47, had been in ill health for some time. She is survived by three brothers, Luther of Heflin; J.K. of Fyffe; Paul of Heflin; five sisters, Mrs. Fannie Key of Jay, Fla., Mrs. Ethel Myers of Ai; Mrs. Delia Price of Oxford; Mrs. Elizabeth Morris of Heflin; and Mrs. Annie White of Edwardsville. Pallbearers were Mrs. Ethel Myers, Mrs. Annie White, Mrs. Elizabeth Morris, Mrs. Pearl Willingham, Mrs. Bell Webb and Miss Eva Riddle. ------ JOHN T. LESUEUER John T. LeSueuer, age 89, passed away April 1 at the residence of his daughter Mrs. I.M. Woodard on Heflin, Route 2. Mr. LeSueuer was a member of Wise Chapel church for the last 40 years. He had been in ill health for some time. Funeral services were held April 2 at 11 a.m. from Wise Chapel by the Rev. H.R. Carter and Rev. H.C. Smith. Interment was in the church cemetery with Brown - Service in charge. Mr. LeSueuer is survived by one son, William T.; two daughters, Mrs. W.M. McElroy and Mrs. Woodard; one sister Mrs. Mollie Hunt, all of Heflin; and 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were M.L. McElroy, Herman Gilley, Loyd Woodard, Glenn LeSueuer, O'Neil LeSueuer and T.B. Ralston. ---------- BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION The 72nd birthday of W.N. Bennett was celebrated by a surprise dinner given by his wife and children on March 30th. A bountiful dinner was spread and enjoyed by all. Those present were: Mr. & Mrs. W. N. Written by a granddaughter ----- FAMILY REUNION IN MAY At Antioch in Cleburne county at the old burial ground, W.C. McMahan and his nine children expect to hold a family reunion at that place on the first Sunday in May. Although they are scattered from Atlanta, Ga. to San Antonio, Texas. At which time and place two of them, Clark and W.K. expect to meet and see each other for the first time in life. They are each grown and each married and have a family. ----- FRUITHURST News April 7th Mrs. Gustam Larson of Bemidji, Minn. is the house guest of Miss Clara Lahr. Mrs. Larson was a former resident of Fruithurst, leaving here 44 years ago. Lambert By a granddaughter ------- MRS. BEASON DIES The News received word this week of the death of Mrs. Amada Bell Beason, age 81, wife of E.W. Beason, known as Uncle Ed, of Hartsfield, Ga, on April 3. She was born and reared in this county near Beasons Mill; was a member of the Methodist church, joining at the age of 14. Surviving are the husband, one daughter and five sons. ----- LOCAL News Mr. and Mrs. K.V. Rayfield of Lincoln visited the latter's parents Mr. and Mrs. C.J. McCraven on Sunday. ---- Mr. and Mrs. Grady Price of Gadsden visited the latter's parents Mr. and Mrs. John Crumpton on Sunday. ---- Mr. and Mrs. Henry Howell and sons of Oxford spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Evans. ---- Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Beason spent the weekend with their mother Mrs. Simpson who is ill at Fort Payne. ---- DEATHS ROLLINS Mrs. Mattie Elizabeth Rollins, age 78, died April 11 at her residence on Heflin, Route 3, after a four months illness. Funeral services were held from Micaville church April 12 at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. R.L. Skinner and Rev. T.D. Stovall. Interment was in the church cemetery with Brown - Service in charge. Surviving are six sons: J.H., S.J., S.W., F.L. and R.B. all of Heflin, Route 2 and A.F. of Ranburne; two daughters, Misses M.D. and A.E. Rollins of Heflin, Route 3. ------ ABNEY Funeral services were held April 14 at 2 p.m. for C.R. Abney, age 68, who died April 13 at his home on Edwardsville, Route 1. The Rev. Jim Willburn, Rev. Jim Brown and Rev. C.E. Garner conducting the services. Interment was in Camp Creek cemetery with Brown - Service in charge. Mr. Abney is survived by his wife and three sons, J.R., J.B. and W.T. of Edwardsville. ----- NEWSPAPER Issue of Thursday, APRIL 24, 1941 BIRTHDAY DINNER On Sunday, April 13, the children, relatives and friends met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charley Weaver to enjoy a birthday dinner given for Mr. Weaver on his 53rd birthday. A large dinner was spread.
