It is hoped that he will soon be able to be out again. __ L.R. Hurst and wife of Bowdon spent several days with the family of A.J. Hurst last week. __ W.J. Fowler has sold his machinery outfit to B.F. Snow & Co. __ Rev. George Vaughan of Heflin visited his sister, Mrs. W.J. Fowler last week. ___ Ben Wilkerson and Lela Ayers were married on Sunday. ___ RANBURNE News Miss Kettie Holland and sister of Bowdon spent last week with Mrs. Summerlin. __ Mr. Akers of Bowdon has contracted to build the Baptist church, and will begin work on Monday. __ We are sorry to say that our friend and neighbor Mrs. Annie Wiggins who has been ill, is not any better. ___ NEWSPAPER issue of Thursday, September 11, 1913 ABERNATHY News Mr. Fuller Love of Carrollton has just moved to Hopewell where he will do business. __ Mr. E. Crawford has just moved to Tallapoosa. __ There was born to Mr. James Willingham a fine girl on the 29th of last month. __ Mr. Phillip Gore and MIss Gable were married a few days back. A few days later they were both baptized in the Baptist Church at New Hopewell. ___ NOTICE OF FINAL SETTLEMENT State of Alabama, Cleburne County Probate Court September 3, 1913 Regarding the estate of Nancy Patty, dec'd This day came Margaret Patty as administratrix of the estate of Nancy Patty, dec'd and filed her account and vouchers for a final settlement of the estate. It is therefore ordered that the 13 day of October 1913 be and the same is hereby appointed the day on which to make said settlement and that notice thereof is hereby given by publication in the Cleburne News, a newspaper published in Cleburne County, Alabama, once a week for three consecutive weeks. About one hour later, Mr. Hester and Miss Luallen were married. On Tuesday Mr. Lester Jacobs and Miss Minnie Cook were married. _____ We regret to note that Mr. Ben Harris of Hopewell had the misfortune to fall from a considerable height in his gin house Wednesday which prevented him from coming to church that day, we hope, however that he is not dangerously hurt and will be up again in a few days. ____ Mr. Luther Jacobs will in the future reside in Tallapoosa where he will work with Mr. Sasser. ____ NOTICE Notice is hereby given that an application for the pardon and remission of the jail sentence of W.A. Cole, convicted and sentenced by the Circuit Court of Cleburne County, Alabama on the 21st day of September 1912, for manslaughter in the second degree, and fined fifty dollars and sentenced to six months in the county jail of Cleburne County, Ala, will be made to the Governor of Alabama.
