Mr. Sutton was a faithful member of the Baptist church and had many friends and relatives to mourn his death. Crumpton, widow On Sunday the 15th of March at the old family residence of William Crumpton, the present home of the aged widow, was held the reunion. The assemblage was to celebrate the 72nd birthday. She is the mother of 11 children, three sons and eight daughters, of which nine are living. She has 64 grandchildren, 32 boys and 32 girls. Of this number 63 were present and dined together. Baskets filled with choice food were sent to each absentee, the total number being fed was 93 members of the family including a number of friends who attended this rare celebration. After dinner was over, music was furnished by Prof. Newman, his wife and his sister of Jacksonville where they are engaged in teaching. A spirit of levity and good humor was produced by the many kinsmen prompted by love for the aged mother and grandmother whose ripe years and tender care to them they met to celebrate. Mr. W.R. Daniel, a son-in-law, lives with Mrs. Crumpton who was taken by surprize by the gathering. He could not at first see how he was to feed so many, but he must have just then have remembered the feast of the "loaves and the fishes" for after nearly one hundred had been fed there remained enough to feed many more. The only regret was expressed was that a photographer couldn't be procured to make a group picture of the assemblage. With the fondly expressed hope that years may be added to the life of this cherished mother and new opportunities given her loved ones to meet and celebrate them. J.H. Crumpton. _______ IN MEMORY OF OLIVER WHITE WIth profound loss we chronicle the death of Oliver White, which came Tuesday, March 17th. He was laid to rest until god shall call for him, in the Bethsadia Cemetery by loving hands on the 18th. He was born April 22, 1892, living only 21 years, 10 months and 22 days. He was married to Miss Gladys Robertson on Nov 9, 1913. This union was destined to last only four months and eight days. His young wife gave him the most kind and tender attention during the last sickness. He only lived twenty days after he took to his bed. He died of typhoid fever. Oliver was a son of William and Mattie White, nee Mattie Duffey. The grand parents raised Oliver and he lived in the home at the time of his death. He joined the Baptist church at Bethsadia at the age of 12 years to which he was a member at the time of his death. On the evening of the 18th at 3 o'clock a large concourse of people assembled int he church at old Bethsadia to pay the last tribute of respect and to hear the funeral sermon preached by Rev. J.D. Johnson the ex-pastor of the church. After reading a part of the 4th chapter of 1st Thessalonians and praying the choir sang a beautiful song after which the text was announced from Luke 23:13, "today shalt thou be with me in paradise." At the close of the sermon Rev. William Haywood led in prayer. We pray god's richest blessings to comfort the bereaved ones and keep us all until we reach that blissful shore where there will be no more sad partings, no more sickness and deaths but one eternal day over among the angels.
