She joined the Missionary Baptist church at Pinetucky in early life and later moved her membership along with her husband, to Union Hill church, of which she was a faithful member until her death. She was a devoted wife and a kind and generous mother. Her friends were numbered by her acquaintances; she was loved by all who knew her. She leaves a husband, 3 children and 4 step-children, a mother and 8 sisters and one brother to mourn her death. We would not say to husband, children and relatives to weep not, for we know it would be almost impossible with them when they look around, seeing the work of Flora's hands and those sweet little children with no mother's care to guide them; but we would encourage them with the thought of again meeting dear Flora on the banks of sweet deliverance; for we truly believe that since that earthly tabernacle of Sister Flora Fowler has dissolved, she has a building of god, a house not made with hands eternal and in the heavens. If we will only strive to live a sweet, christian life that dear Flora lived, we will meet her in that beautiful home beyond the skies. She is there singing with the holy angels around god's throne. Oh what a blessed thought it to us when we think of meeting our loved ones in heaven. It was hard to see her suffer, it was hard to see her died; but she's now with god's angels in that beautiful home. Let us carry in our hearts the sweet hope that all when we reach that shining portal we will meet dear Flora. Let us look to god for mercy and trust him now to guide us over, then we will meet our loved ones. Purl Slappey ___ LETTER FROM CAMP SEVIER, from J. Sylvester Hall Dear Editor, Am now in Camp Sevier and am well pleased with everything. Camp Sevier is simply a nice place for camp. The general appearance of everything is somewhat like Alabama, except that it is more level here, not so rolling and possibly the nights are cooler. Our blankets are very much welcomed in the morning just before day. We have to go to bed rather early here. The new time, and the fact that we had to change our watches one hour makes us to to bed two hours earlier than when we were governed by old time back home. We go to bed between nine and ten o'clock. There are quite a bunch of boys here from Cleburne, Randolph, Calhoun and Talladega counties. They seem to be pretty well satisfied. I have missed The News this week but am giving my address so I'll not miss it next week. Wish as many as can would sent letters to be printed in The News so we can get as much news as possible from home. Will go for this time and will write again. J. Sylvester Hall, Co. 2 1st Prov. She united with the Baptist church at Howle's Grove at the age of 17, later moving her membership to Union Hill and remained a consistent member until her death, March 18, 1918. She leaves a husband, three children, a mother, father, two sisters, two brothers and a host of friends to mourn her untemily death. She was married to Bro. W.J. White November 16, 1902. Just a short time before she died, she called her husband and children to her bedside and requested them to be good and meet her in heaven where they would be no more parting. There is a vacant place in the home that can never be filled, but husband and children, weep not, for the dear wife and mother is at rest; she is more fortunate than we, she has gained her happy reward. We realize and know that we have lost a worthy and precious friend, but we rejoice in the blessed hope of meeting her again where there will be no sadness or farewells. We have been in sister White's home many times and was always greeted with a smile. She was a kind and loving friend who will be greatly missed in the community, but her memory will live.
