A special friend of the bride's a girl of 15 "stood up" with her chum. This little girl was called "Teelie" Wright. These young people soon came to the parting of the ways and the bride and groom remained in the state of Alabama while "Teelie" and her parents came to Georgia to live. "Teelie" married and her husband died some years ago in our town. The wife of the young man, after more than forty years of devotion to her children and husband, passed to her reward. "Teelie" and her chum's husband were left alone to revel in the sweet memories of long ago. But about four weeks ago, Mr. W.J. Henry of Heflin, Ala., heard that the widow Mrs. A.V. Cobb, (who was "Teelie" Wright many years ago) was living in Tallapoosa. He came to see her. They talked over old times for hours and then Cupid put in and suggested that they talk of something of the future and they did and were happily joined in holy wedlock at the home of the bride on Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock in the presence of a few friends, Rev. F.R. Seaborn, performing the ceremony. Mr. Henry is a splendid gentleman and Mrs. Henry numbers her friends by the score. They have the best wishes of a host of friends for a happy and long life. They will reside in Tallapoosa. Tallapoosa Journal Mr. Henry, here in Heflin and Cleburne County where is so well and favorably known, has the best wishes of all our people. _______ T. M. H. Stephens on Newnan street where on Sunday the 28th, as if drawn by magic, there came together the following members of these two long established and highly respected families, the representatives of veteran and patriotic parentage of the sixties, brave and true, the noble sires, who, with their no less patriotic companions, withstood those years of trials and privation, and with heroic courage met and battled with the resultant trials incident to the reconstruction period which followed. We refer to Uncle Charlie Wager of Whitesburg and Mr. John Stephens, two of Carroll's well known and highly respected citizens whose records are above reproach. Hence the reunion of the children of these two families, now related by the sacred ties of matrimony, was a very fitting expression of their devotion to their revered parents and to each other.
