W.T. Dodd. All singers and lovers of Sacred Harp music are invited to come and spend the day of real enjoyment among the people of Oxford. B.O. McWhorter ____ GRANTLEY News Mr. Boll Weevil has played havoc with cotton here. __ Mrs. J.E. Grimes was the guest of her daughter Mr. Elza Ferguson on Sunday. __ PINEY WOODS News Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Horton have as their guests her mother Mrs. T.W. Moore and sister Mrs. Lillian Medlin of Dallas, Georgia. __ LOCAL News J.R. Edwards and family left last week for Houston County, Texas where they will make their future home. __ NEWSPAPER issue of Thursday, October 21, 1920 LOCAL News Mrs. R.P. Talley received a happy surprize when her brother, W.A. Porter, of Heflin, Ala., arrived unannounced. Capt. Porter had attended the Confederate Reunion at Houston and took advantage of this opportunity to visit his sister and the family of her daughter Mrs. J.C. Mitchell, whom he had not seen in several years. Mr. Porter is one of two living brothers out of a family of ten, all of whom served in the Confederate Army in the War Between the States. He speaks in warmest praise of the hospitality of Houston to the Confederate soldiers and thinks Temple a beautiful city. He will be his sister's guest for several weeks. ___ GOOD CITIZEN CALLED TO REST In the death of Mr. B.T. Foster on the morning of October first, not only Helfin but Cleburne county gave up one of the very best christian gentleman and the church a faithful member, his companion and children a devoted husband and affectionate father. Mr. Foster had been in declining health for several months and for many months was unable to leave his home. It is the pleasure of the editor of The News to have intimately known this good man for more than 25 years, who was familiarly known as "Tom" Foster. The the world is made better by his having lived in it. The entire community deeply and sincerely sympathizes with the family and other relatives in their hour of grief. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. J.
