Anniston Star
W. Thad Ayers, 73, of Delta Rt. 1, a life-long resident of Clay County died at 
Memorial Hospital in Anniston early Monday. Funeral services were conducted 
Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Hepzibah Baptist Church near Wedowee with 
burial in the adjacent cemetery. The Rev. Gus Young officiated, with Jones 
Funeral Home in charge. Masonic graveside rites were held. Mr. Ayers is survived 
by the widow, Mrs. Zonia Ayers; one son, H. L. Ayers; one brother, Jep Ayers, all 
of Delta, Rt. 1; three sisters, Mrs. Nannie Morrison, Oxford, Mrs. Arie Roberts, 
Oxford, and Mrs. Artie Greggs, Delta, Rt. 2, and three grandsons.



Additional Comments:
Wilson Thaddues Ayres was born Nov 27, 1884, in Cleburne County Alabama. He was 
the son of Patrick Jeptha Ayres and Martha Eugenia Currie. He married Arizona 
Lindley. They were the parents of one son Henry Lindley Ayres.
