He had been ill only two days. Funeral services will be held at Hepsebah Church at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning with the Rev. J R. Talley officiating. Interment will be in the Hepsebah Cemetery, directed hv Jones of Anniston. While living in a comparatively isolated part of Cleburne County with his family of five, Mr. Currie devoted his life to a study of the minerals and soils. He often was of service, to the government with information on mineral wealth he county. His knowledge of the woods caused many to compare him with the "scouts" of pioneer days, and his analyses of soils often were employed by land and investment companies of the state. Surviving are the wife, two sons. M. E. Currie, Jr. and Pink Currie, and two daughters, Misses Elizabeth and Sarah Currie all of Delta, Route 1. Pallbearers will be William Smith, Miller Wade, Robert Howell, A.P. Cheatwood, B. T. Adams and Howard Pruett. Additional Comments: He was the son of Wm Belton Currie & Martha Glymph. He married 1. Mary Ardella Phillips, they had several children together and divorced before 1910. He married 2. Iona Taylor, they had three children.
