A. Hammonds, 79, retired farmer of Heflin, died at his home in Heflin yesterday afternoon. Funeral Services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Rabbittown Baptist Church with the Rev. Durro Wood officiating. Mr. Hammonds is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Criswell of Horton; five daughters, Mrs. F. P. Christopher of Anniston, Misses Ruby and Opal Hammonds of Anniston and Misses Edna and Louise Hammonds of Heflin; eight sons, Pirn Hammonds of Anniston, Porter Hammonds of Savannah, Ga.; Fred Hammonds of Selma, Fain Hammonds of Houston, Tex.; Amerson Linwood Hammonds of Anniston, Hamp Hammonds of Heflin and Martin Hammonds of Cincinnati, O.; 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be George Hammonds, George Gaines, Herman Hammonds, Jim Hammonds, Alex Stevenson and John Hammonds. Honorary pallbearers will be Irwin Turner, Morris Shockley, Arvis Howie, Elbert Boozer, Wallace Woodruff, Harvey Love, G. D. Broome, Dr. R. L. Meharg, W. C. Hyatt, Forney Watson, Willard Brown and W.
