W. Hingson, a former citizen of Cleburne County, but who has been living at Oxford for many years, was buried at Hepzibah cemetery Tuesday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. E. W. Hagood, pastor of the Oxford Baptist church. Mr. Hingson served one term as sheriff of Randolph County several, years ago, moving afterwards to this county and later to Oxford. He is survived by two sons, John H. and Robert A. Hingson, and two daughters, Mrs. Delia Yoe and Mrs. Dora Turnipseed, all of Oxford. A large number of the old friends of the family assembled to the Hepzibah cemetery for the funeral service. Mr. Hingson was Confederate soldier and member of the Masonic fraternity. Ashland Progress: S. W. Hingson, well known citizen of Oxford, died at the home of his son, R. A. Hingson, in that city Sunday night and was buried Tuesday. He was 88 years of age and was a veteran of the Civil War. Mr. Hingson was well known to the old citizens of Ashland; he is having lived in this section before taking up his abode in Oxford. The funeral services were attended by Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Burkhead and Mr. and Mrs. D. Burkhead, of Ashland, who were relatives of the deceased.
