JORDAN DEAD In the death of Mr. H.C. Jordan, which sad event occurred at his home in Heflin on Sunday, Sept. 3, after a short illness, our town has lost a good man, a good citizen and a good husband and father. Mr. Jordan, whom I have known for many years, was first a member of the Methodist church and in 1902 united with the Baptist church of which he was a consistent member up to his sad and untimely death. He moved from Randolph County to Cleburne County about January of this year. He was a native of Georgia, being born in DeKalb County in 1853. Nothwithstanding his stay among us was of short duration he numbered his friends by his acquaintances. He leaves a wife and daughter, an aged mother and one brother to mourn his loss. The remains were interred in the family burying ground in Randolph County, Ala. M.D. Robison and daughter and others from Heflin attended the funeral. The sympathy of a host of sorrowing friends is extended the bereaved ones. W.L.
