August 8, 1884; Page 3 Thomas R. Mitchell, departed this life on the 10th of July 1884, at Heflin, Ala., after a painful illness of over two weeks. The subject of this notice, moved to the West about five years since, and was prostrated with malarial fever, from the effects of which he never fully recovered. He made a profession of religion several years ago but did not manifest its saving and constraining power until two years past when he became a most devoted and consistent follow of Christ. He manifested great interest not only in his own welfare, but also in the welfare of his wife and children. He appeared to long for a change from this world to a better one, and thus stated his desire to his companion. He died at the age of 26 years leaving his wife and two children to mourn his loss.
