Born Jan 7, 1821
Died Aug 18, 1884

Additional Information:

This is William Howard Burdette's tombstone in the Old city cemetery in 
Heflin, Cleburne Co., AL.  I made the photo in 1986 and as you can see the 
stone was broken.  I haven't been back since then but I doubt it exists any 
more.  It clearly had the birth and death dates but I couldn't read the additional writing.

There was a typhoid fever outbreak that summer.  William "Howard", his daughter, Eliza Frances Burdette 
Mitchell, & son-in-law, Thomas R. Mitchell, are all buried next to each other.  Tom died 17 July 1884 & 
Eliza Frances died on 25 Aug 1884.
