Written: April 23, 1841

Coffee County, Alabama Deed Book D, page 16, 23 April 1841:
	This indenture made the Twenty Third day of April in the year of our 
Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and Forty-One between Henry King of the State 
of Alabama and County of Dale of the one part and Newsom Taunton of the 
aforesaid State and County of the other part witnesseth that for and in 
consideration of the sum of Three Hundred and Twelve Dollars the receipt 
whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold and conveyed by these 
presents doth bargain and sell unto the said Newsom Taunton and to his heirs 
and assigns forever all the following tract of Land viz, the North West 
quarter of the South East quarter of Section Seventeen Township five Range 
Twenty also situate lying and being in the County of Dale on the East side of 
Pea(?) River together with all and singular the hereditaments and 
appertenances thereunto belonging ___ ___ any wise appertaining to in law and 
to hold unto the said Newsom Taunton his heirs and assigns jointly and 
severally and that I do for my self and my heirs and assigns executors and 
administrators jointly and severally promise to warrant and forever defend the 
above described Land unto Newsom Taunton his heirs and assigns forever.
