February 24, 1881:

Mrs. Dorothy SIMMONS died at the residence of her son, J.B. SIMMONS, near 
Elba, Coffee County, Alabama, February 7th, 1881.  Her fatal disease was 
pneumonia.  She was born in Wilkes County, Georgia, March 19th, 1798, and was 
the widow of the late William B. SIMMONS, who died in July 1853.  They moved to 
Alabama in 1844.  Mrs. SIMMONS was an active and consistent member of the 
Baptist Church…
