Mobile Press, Jun 1955; Obituary Files, Alabama State Archives, Montgomery Al
Mr. Jess W. Black , age 84 died.. in Enterprise, Ala., Friday after a long 
illness. He has been a resident of Enterprise for the past nine years at 104 
Geneva St. He was a a resident of Tallassee, Ala....member of the Oak Valley ME 
church, attended the Park Avenue Baptist church...survived by his wife, Mrs. Mimi 
Elizabeth Black, Enterprise. Ala., four daughters, Mrs. V.E. Pearson, San Luis 
Obispo, CA; Mrs. A.L.Darrow, Oakland, Ca.; Mrs. C.B. Whitaker, New Orleans, La.,; 
Mrs. A.F. Pattison, Long Beach, Ca; three sons, Martin B. Black, Paramount, CA.; 
Charles P. Black, Enterprise, Ala.; Warren Reese Black, Mobile, Ala.; seven 
grandchildren...one brother Karnes L. Black, Opelika Ala; Funeral services from 
Park Avenue Baptist Church, Tuesday May 31, 1955. 

Additional Comments:
I have a collection of obituary articles that were cut out of Alabama newspapers, 
and found in the Archives. Not all are indentified by newspaper, or date.
