File Manager - Lygia D. Cutts Obit of Frances Virginia (Yelverton) Rushing - Coffee Co., AL Thursday, August 2, 1887 "MRS. FANNIE VIRGINIA RUSHING On the morning of the 24th of July at Elba, Ala., after a short and painful illness, Mrs. Fannie Virginia Rushing, wife of Dr. F. M. Rushing, departed this life in the 35th year of her age, leaving seven lovely children, a devoted husband, and many relatives and friends to mourn her loss. In life a general favorite, her death creates general sorrow. She was conscious of the approach of death, yet ever calm and self-possessed, prayed fervently and devoted woman in all the relations of life and died as a Christian, happy. Mrs. Rushing was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, the eldest daughter of Hon. G. T. and Mrs. M B. Yelverton of Elba -a lady of rare attainment and most amiable disposition." Note: Frances Virginia Yelverton (b. 19 Apr 1843 in ? & d. 24 Jul 1877 in Elba, Coffee Co., AL) married Francis Marion Rushing (5 Jan 1833 in Montgomery Co., AL & d.
