Landers", was a "Private" in Company "E" of "4th" Regiment of "Alabama Cavalry"; that he came to his death from wounds received or (Note: the words "wounds received or" are stricken through on the original document) disease contracted in the service of the Confederate States, and that his death occurred during the late war or within one year thereafter (Note: the words "or within one year thereafter" are stricken through on the original document); that she has not since re-married; that she was a resident of Alabama on the 25th day of February, 1887, and is a resident at the date of this application; and that her taxable property does not exceed one thousand dollars in value. Landers was born abt. 1825 to 1827 in the State of Alabama according to the 1850 Franklin County Alabama Census Records. He married Francis J. Elkins on February 11, 1844 in Lawrence County Alabama.
