E. MASTERSON Ladder Slips Out As Worked On Home Robert E. Masterson; aged 61, Colbert county farmer who resided south of Leighton, died at the Elizabeth Coffee Memorial hospital, Florence, Friday afternoon, as a result of injuries he sustained in a fall at his home Friday morning. According to reports received here, Mr. Masterson, was engaged in doing some carpenter work on his home and that the ladder on which he was standing, slipped out from under him. He was reported to have fallen a distance of about 10 feet, with his head striking the ground first, and to have suffered a fractured skull. He was rushed to the Florence hospital, but his head injuries were of such a nature that recovery was impossible. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 P. M. at Masterson cemetery south of Leighton, with Rev. Emmett Saint, Baptist minister of that community, officiating. Interment will follow there with Browns in charge. Surviving in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Sally Sprinkle and Mrs. Stella Blowing; six sons, T. E., V. W. Ralph, James Dempsey and Ganes Masterson, and two brothers, J. P. and P. B. Masterson all of that community.
