RODEN, 59, TAKEN BY DEATH Funeral Services Held On Tuesday Morning Lee Anderson Roden, aged 59 well known resident of Leighton, passed away at his home there Monday morning at 9:20 o'clock following a long illness. The deceased was a life long resident of Colbert and Lawrence counties, and had many friends in this section. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lue Roden; his mother, Mrs. Sallie Roden, of Leighton, two brothers, Albert Roden, of Leighton and Rufus Roden of Florence; a sister Mrs. Ida Jefferys, of Town Creek; six daughters, Mrs. Ellen Ultey of Leighton; Mrs. Harry Thompson, Mrs. Sid Aycock and Miss Syble Roden, of Leighton, and two sons, Johnnie Roden and Ceil Roden, of Leighton. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the residence, with the Rev. Jackson conducting final rites. Interment followed in the Roden cemetery. Active pallbearers were; John Gargis, Joe McGee, Huston Conely, Willie Hennessee, Earnest Morgan and Joseph King.
