JUDGE OF SAID COURT Your Petitioner - Irvin Roden, a benafide Resident of Colbert County, Alabama, of the age of Ninteen years, and has been such resident for more then three years next before the filing of this petition; That was married to Orie Melton in the year 1927 and we lived together about six weeks, and while so living together. My wife left our home and abandoned me entirely, and brought her suit for divorce in this Honorable Court, to which action I did not answer in any way, and she obtained her decree allowing her to again contract marriage, and she re-married again but in said decree petitioner was not granted any relief or the right to marry again. Your petitioner therefore brings this his petition before your Honor and prays this Honorable Court to grant to him the right to again contract marriage. That petitioner is an able bodied man and of good moral character, a Farmer by occupation, and works hard at his calling. He is a farmer by occupation, and worked hard at his calling, and is capable of Supporting a family. He is about ninteen years of age, and has been a bonafide resident of Alabama for more than three years next before this date. Her great grandfather was an attourney in Alabama between 1900-1930. She had many court and office records. The Lawrence County Archives acquired the remainder of her collection. It was a wonderful way for her to preserve her grandfathers years of work, and a great was to helping us to preserve the heritage of our family member who have gone before us.
