George Bates and Barbara Goodwin - Marriage Bond Colbert, County AL  

THE STATE OF ALABAMA , COLBERT COUNTY,

Known all men by these Presents, That we, George Bates, Jesse Goodwin and Henry 
Irvin, are held and firmly bound unto the state of Alabama in the sum of Two Hundred 
Dollars, lawful money of the United Stales, to the payment of which sum, well and 
truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, 
jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.

THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That whereas, a license to solemnize 
Marriage between Mr. George BATES and Miss. Barbara Goodwin has this day been Issied 
by the Probate Court OF Colbert County, At_________Request; 

Now, therefore, if there is no lawful cause why such Marriage should not be celebrated, 
then this obigation to be void; otherwise it is to remain in full force.

and this shall be your sufficient authority for so doing, Given under my hand and 
seal this, 29 day May 1895.
